To Italy with Love
CIAO

Saturday in San Juan Del Sur
All work and know play make for some very tired clinic volunteers. So, today we all piled in to our tour vans and drove to San Juan Del Sur to eat at a charming little tiki hut style restaurant that was hosted by the Lions Club. Grilled chicken, roast beef, and breaded sea food was on the menu. Many of us washed it down with a few cervasezes and then went sight seeing. Some were feeling a little more brave and hopped in some boats in very rough waters to do some fishing. The Italians got lucky and managed to snag themselves a catch that they had a local Italian restaurant in Granada serve up for them tonight.

Day 2
Smooth and steady can describe our second day of clinic Nicaragua. We have had two days to acclimate to the humidity and adjust to our new surroundings. The kinks of the previous day have been effectively smoothed out and we opened our clinic doors bright and early at 8-am.The numbers we saw jumped from 700 to 1150 and VOI had 30 referrals for cataract assistance.

Thank you and welcome to the blog of the Nicaragua OneSight clinic team.
The time that we have all been preparing so diligently for has finally come. In just a few short weeks we will have the opportunity to give the gift of sight to thousands of deserving people. A life with out desperately needed eyecare is a reality to many people in the world. Through OneSight countless doors and possibilities will been opened to improve their quality of life. Clear vision allows a child the ability to go to school and get their education, adults can seek employment and provide for their families. Plus, who can take for granted the ability to see a loved one smile especially if this is something they are seeing for the first time. Yes, the gift of sight is truly a gift like no other, that is why OneSight works so hard with countless local community volunteers, generous donations, dedicated Luxottica employees, and caring doctors to see that the 20 International missions conducted each year run so smoothly.
We invite you to visit this blog each day of our two week mission and share in the experiences with us as we touch lives in the Granada/Rivas Nicaragua communities and have our lives changed forever as well. You will soon see why we have such a passion for giving everyone the opportunity to see the world clearly. We hope that after you experience this with us it will be a passion of yours as well.
If you would like to donate to this wonderful cause and help us exceed our goal to raise 8,000 dollars for our mission, feel free to follow the link and donate. Even the smallest amount can go a long way to help someone see the world clearly.
